Classes Offered
Ballet is considered the basis for all types of dance. A combination of French and Cechetti techniques are used to promote grace, balance, and good posture.
Hip Hop is a newer style of jazz dance. It teaches athleticism, balance, and showmanship using today's music.
Jazz is a style of dance that includes everything from what is seen on Broadway to what is done in music videos. All styles incorporate the same basics of movement and balance. These are taught and expounded upon in styles appropriate for the age group.
Tap accentuates the rhythm of music through footwork. All classes incorporate basic steps to create routines to different styles of music. Props are often used to help relay the story of the song.
Polynesian dance comes from the islands in and around Hawaii. Our authentic steps and dances teach students aspects of the island culture and rich history. Styles are true to their unique island traditions such as Maoran, Tahitian, Ancient, and others.
Baton teaches basic passes, fingertwirls, tosses, and more. Students learn solid hand/eye coordination, good balance, enhanced dexterity.
Irish Irish dance classes teach basic Irish Ceili dances by a certified Irish instructor. Students learn partnering and traditional dances.

Instructors
Our instructors have studied dance for no less than 10 years each. They each bring their own unique style of teaching, their love of dance, and their commitment to their students. All have been trained to teach effectively through mirroring other instructors and studying the Dance Masters of America syllabi.

Ages
2 - 3 Year Old or Kinderdance classes are structured to entice children by learning with music. Basic gross motor skills, learning to take turns, the concepts of left, right, and following the leader are just some of the basics introduced. Beginning ballet positions, tap rhythms, tumbling, and other building blocks of good dance and tumbling are demonstrated and practiced.
4-7 Year Old classes introduce more complex, longer steps and combinations. These students wear proper tap and ballet slippers in the combo class. This allows for better evaluation of steps and insures proper techniques are being used.
8 Years through Teens classes focus on more strict and proper use of technique. Concentration is on body placement and stage presence. Although more structured and intense, the emphasis is on the thrill of dancing.
Adults are here to have fun. This is a way to blow off steam, exercise, build a sense of camaraderie with those in the class, and laugh!
Performance Opportunities
Each year our students have a variety of venues in which to showcase what they have learned. The most significant is our end of the year recital. This is usually scheduled for the third weekend in May. Although not mandatory, all students are encouraged to participate as it helps to promote self confidence and gives each a sense of accomplishment. Each class performs one routine they have been practicing in class. Each student must purchase a costume and audience members are charged a moderate admission fee.
